Renaghan is leading Carolan Cup qualifier

Brian Og Renaghan was the leading qualifier as 16 players qualified for the matchplay stage of the Carolan Cup.

Five handicapper Reneghan, who won the Captain’s Prize last summer, shot a five under par 67 and will now meet Gerard Carroll in the first round. Renaghan birdied the seventh, 10th, 15th and 18th and had 10 pars as he went out in 35 nett and came home in 32 nett. His gross score of level par 72 was the best gross score of the day while Chirs Clarke (14) took the juvenile prize after a 76. Carolan Cup First Round matches must be played by June 24, 2019.
