Congratulations to Catherine Smyth who won Golfer of the Year. Catherine had a truly memorable year. She started off the year with good performances on the second day of Lady Captain's prize and in Professional Leslie Walker's prize. She had a clean sweep in July and August firstly winning President Vera's with a great score of 69 and then winning Captain Noel's prize with an even better score of 67. The icing on the cake was clinching Golfer of the Year by two shots leading the pack the whole way through. Catherine has lost two shots on each of her big wins and a further two shots under ESR (exceptional score reduction). a total of six shots from a handicap of 20 down to 14. These last two shots were lost due to her good performance at the start of the season. Food solutions sponsored the Golfer of the Year and Joan Martin presented the prize on behalf of the sponsors.
