Hole 12 – Slieve Gullion
Par: 5 Stroke Index: 8
Blue: 505m White: 474m Green: 465m Red: 408m
As one progresses down this fairway, Slieve Gullion, to the west of the Cooley Mountains, can be seen in the distance. The mountain features prominently in stories from Irish mythology about legendary warriors Fionn MacCumhaill and Cúchullain.
Leslie’s Tip: This par five doglegs from right to left with a water hazard crossing the fairway at 240 yards from the medal tee. A narrow second shot awaits with hazards left, right and long, so laying up just right of the fairway bunker is always a good option in order to hit the two tier green.
