A par at the last gave Andrew Carroll a one shot win over Ray Pepper in the Professionals’ Prize.
Playing off 19. Carroll shot a nett 63 while Pepper, off 24, recorded a nett 64 as 48 of the 261 players in the field shot below the nett par of 72. Carroll went out in 31 nett thanks to pars at the second, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth and came home in 32 nett following a birdie four at the 10th and pars at the 11th, 12th and 18th. Pepper covered both nines in 32 nett with his six pars coming at the first, fifth, sixth, 10th , 13th and 15th and he just couldn’t find the extra par he needed down the stretch to take overall victory. Conall Murdock had five birdies on his way to shooting a three-under par 69 to claim the Gross Prize while Paul Matthews (38) shot a nett 68 to win the Veteran’s Prize. Senan Duffy (9), Paul O’Callaghan (14) and Danny Woods (21) took the Division honours.
