A blistering 10 hole run from the second to the 11th which yielded a remarkable 31pts was the foundation for Conor McClenaghan’s impressive win in the 18 hole singles stableford competition played on Saturday, April 15. Playing off 16, McClenaghan had four-point birdies at the second and seventh, three-point pars at the third, fourth, fifth, eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh and a two-point par at the sixth where he didn’t have a shot. That left him on 32pts after 11 holes and he added on another 12points over the final seven holes to finish on 44pts and win by four points from Course Superintendent Damian English (11) who had birdies at five, six and 10 on his way to a round of 40pts. On Wednesday, Sean Matthews (20) shot 43pts on his way to victory in the Deluxe Bathrooms Open Singles Stableford.
