Caolan Rafferty was part of the Ireland team that finished second to England in the Home Internationals in Wales last week. The Irish team lost out by 0.5 of a point after both teams finished level on two points.
On Day One, Caolan partnered Enniscorthy’s Paul Conroy to a 4&3 victory in the foursomes against Wales and then won his singles match against Tom Matthews on the 18th as Ireland got off to a perfect start. They followed that up with a win over Scotland with Caolan only playing in the morning foursomes where he and Conroy halved their match. Rafferty was partnered with Alex Maguire in the foursomes against England but the pair were beaten 2&1, Caolan then lost on the 18th in the final singles match.
