Patsy Cole’s Team Ash remain out in front after the fourth round of the Precision Cables Winter League.
On a weekend where a large turnout saw some excellent scoring by most teams, Team Ash managed to stretch their lead at the top of the table by three points and now lead by 21pts from Sean Ward’s Team Hazel. Team Ash picked up 131pts to move their overall total to 521pts with Conor Byrne matching his week three score with an excellent 34pts. He was followed in by Jim Dwyer on 33pts with Billy Cairns and David Kelly contributing 32pts each. Sean Ward’s Team Hazel were joint best team scorers over the weekend with 132pts and were inspired by the in-form John McKeever with an amazing 39pts and John Paul Casey who added another 37pts to the team’s cause. Damian Garland with 29pts and Michael Browne with 27pts completed their scoring. That score allowed Team Hazel to move from third to second as they made up a four point deficit on Team Alder and now lead Alan Uzell’s team by four points as they could only manage 124pts from the weekend with Uzell’s their top scorer on 32pts. With two more rounds to go it’s still all to play for at the top of the table.
