InterClub Weekly Round Up

On Sunday, 12 May 2024, the Gents Jimmy Bruen team had a great win against Greenore. With the match tied at 2-2, Des McKeown and Dennis Cunningham stepped up for the sudden death holes. Having tied the 19th, Dundalk birdied the 20th hole. Well done to all involved with a particular shout out to the management team of Sean Gallegher, Barry Cunningham and Dennis Cunningham.

Unfortunately, the JB Carr team came up short in their weekend's outing against Greenore in the Co. Louth final but it is all still to play for in the second leg this weekend.

In the Ladies section, Saturday saw Team DGC have a huge win in the Women's Leinster Trophy against St. Margarets. Leading the charge away, there were big wins for Pauline Campbell and Elaine Ward. At home, Catherine Duff had a comfortable win on 16 while Grainne Gallagher finished strong on 17 to clinch her match. Congrats to the entire team and their managers, Pauline Campbell and Alison Quigley. 

The Ladies Intermediate Foursomes team took on Clontarf on Sunday in their second round clash. LVC Sally Mc Donnell and Berni McCabe faced tough opposition but held firm to win on the 17th. Elaine Ward and Grain Mullins started well and emerged victorious on the 16th. Meanwhile, Jacinta Foran and Elizabeth McGuinness managed to take their match to the 17th before conceding the match. It all then hinged on the last group of Mary Carthy and Caroline Dunne who had a comfortable 3&2 win. The team now progress to meet Corrstown in the next match. Well done to all involved including team managers Ann Hopper and LC Mags Coburn.
