Caolan Rafferty won the Club Championship on Saturday after shooting round of 74 and 73 to win by five shots from Paul Murphy.
Rafferty, who came into the event on the back of a top ten finish at the Irish Amateur Open in Rosses Point the previous weekend, opened with a one over par 73 that included an eagle at the par five tenth and a birdie at the par five sixth. He dropped shots at the fourth, ninth, 13th and 16th. His second round score was one shot more as he carded a two over par 74 that featured birdies at the sixth and 18 and dropped shots at the first, fourth, 13th and 15th. Ben Cahill (2) had the competition’s best nett as he shot a total of 160 from rounds of 77 and 83.
